More improvements with firmware 1.05 of SLT-A77/A65

The Firmware update to version 1.05 for the SLT-A77 and SLT-A65 contains more than was announced. The Japanese announcement mentions “other improvements”, without going into detail. Further testing and reports from the community reveal what these other improvements are:

There were some problems with Minolta TCs and the Minolta 300/2.8 and 600/4 APO telephoto lenses. After some minutes of use, the camera would only hunt for focus. Firmware 1.05 reportedly has fixed this issue.

I found that not only was power off quicker but power on and "wake from sleep" is quicker.

Also using the joystick to change AF zone or local AF point is much more responsive.

I think the "five other improvements" refer to those from v1.04, this is from the Sony site and there are five. ;)

Benefits provided by previous updates and included in version 1.05:

Provides support for the following automatic compensation compliant lenses:

Vario-Sonnar T DT 16-80mm F3.5-4.5 ZA (SAL1680Z)
DT 16-105mm F3.5-5.6 (SAL16105)

Improves the responses for the front/rear dials when assigned for exposure compensation
Improves picture quality for 24p movie recording (NTSC regions only)
Improves overexposed images while in ADI flash control
Improves usability

The "unable to magnify" bug has all but gone unless you use jpg with auto review.

I only ever had this bug with auto-review, and I still get it occasionally. So I consider it not fixed.
